About the Job

The Finance Administrator must be highly organised, financially accurate, deadline driven and able to work independently and under pressure. They must possess strong knowledge of financial systems and administration processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely processing of day-to-day financial transactions.

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and procedures.

  • Manage the payroll system.

  • Process and reconcile all financial transactions and identify and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records.

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements up to Trial Balance.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support management planning.

  • Prepare donor financial reports and analysis.

  • Support with external audits and regulatory submissions.

  • Provide ad hoc support across the team, including general administrative tasks when required.

  • Work collaboratively with Management to maintain effective financial controls and processes.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma/Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (preferred).

  • Accounting and Finance skills, including understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant bookkeeping/accounting experience.

  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (Pastel experience ideal).

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).


Skills:

  • Meticulous attention to detail.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working exposure to Pastel accounting software.

  • Advanced numeracy skills for bookkeeping and accounting needs.

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent listening skills.

  • Ability to accurately perform data entry and maintain manage financial records.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Deadline-focused with appropriate responsiveness and quick turnaround time in completion of tasks.

  • Well organised and efficient.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
