About the Job
ONE is looking for a dynamic and visionary Senior Program Manager to design, launch, and scale innovative community programs that empower young leaders, activists, journalists, and public servants across Africa. This is a unique opportunity to shape flagship fellowship initiatives, build powerful advocacy networks, and directly influence policy change to impact lives in Africa. Key Responsibilities
Program Design & Management
Lead the design and implementation of flagship fellowship programs for young activists, journalists, and public servants.
Create innovative curricula and training modules that strengthen advocacy, leadership, and policy skills.
Working with the HR team, establish transparent, inclusive selection processes to recruit top-tier participants, and drive decisions.
Community Building & Activation
Build and sustain vibrant, diverse networks of advocates that actively support ONE’s campaigns.
Mobilize communities during key advocacy and campaign moments to maximize visibility and impact.
Develop an alumni strategy to foster long-term engagement and influence.
Team Leadership & Coaching
Manage, coach, and inspire the team members , fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture.
Provide professional growth opportunities that enable staff to thrive and lead.
Work with peers across ONE to leverage experiences of other markets.
Be a leader in the office as we build out our Abuja hub, with a regular presence.
Partnerships & Fundraising
Working with the development team, build compelling narratives and proposals that attract and sustain donor funding.
Cultivate and manage relationships with funders, foundations, and strategic partners to secure resources and sustain initiatives.
Collaborate across ONE and with external stakeholders to increase program reach, visibility, and credibility.
Requirements
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in social sciences, public policy, international development, or related field; Master’s degree desirable.
7+ years’ relevant professional experience in program management, advocacy, or community leadership (minimum 3 years in a management role).
Demonstrated success in designing and delivering training programs or curricula.
Strong track record in team leadership, coaching, and staff development.
Proven ability to secure resources through fundraising or partnership development.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
A self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver results independently.
Comfort in front of audiences, telling ONE’s story and inspiring groups.
A deep, demonstrable commitment to Africa’s development and ONE’s mission.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite.
Related work history in poverty and infectious disease alleviation, advocacy, policy, legislation and/or demonstrable interest in the causes ONE supports.
Authorized to work in Nigeria is required.
