MAMAS Alliance is a unique network of 36 independent leading grassroots NGOs all across South Africa whose core business is the care of the most vulnerable and least fortunate children and youth (and their families), guiding and assisting them to reach their full potential.

The candidate should be an enthusiastic, self motivated, creative and goal driven CSI partnerships manager with specific experience in sales, fundraising and or CSI consulting to join the MAMAS Alliance team. A team player that recognizes and seizes all opportunities.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be employed by the Dutch NGO Kinderfonds MAMAS and will report directly to the Managing Director at MAMAS Alliance in Johannesburg. The CSI Partnerships Manager will be part of a small, dedicated team of professionals that performs this function on a daily full-time basis from MAMSA Alliance’s office in Rivonia. He/she will be involved in identifying new businesses, building relationships, developing CSI-packages, fostering and maintaining the created and existing partnerships with business.

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage partnerships between clients and NPOs

  • Research and identify corporates, foundations and trusts that can be targeted as part of the fundraising strategy

  • Organise and attend meetings with potential donors

  • Proactively build new corporate relationships and maintaining and upgrading existing clients

  • Develop new marketing and sales ideas (together with the team)

  • Manage information on CRM and share management information with the Managing Director

  • Write proposals and facilitate all grant applications to donors on behalf of NGOs

  • Write reports for donors and management

  • Organise and facilitate site visits with donors to NGOs

  • Constant communication and relationship management with NGOs within the alliance

  • Acknowledging that it is in the spirit and DNA of MAMAS to approach and treat the partners within MAMAS Alliance professionally, fairly and with the highest level of respect and transparency whilst considering these NGOs/projects as independent and equal partners.

  • Works in close relationships and shares insights with the Program Manager and Country Representative.

  • Poactively work demand drives where NGO’s express their needs.

  • Proactively help with corporate communications and PR getting our work and message out with relevant companies and contacts.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree, post-graduate qualification required

  • At least 5 years’ experience in sales or fundraising with a proven track record

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills

  • Good organisational and administrative skills

  • The ability to communicate professionally, creatively, flexibly and respectfully with clients: both in the corporate sector (on all levels), and in the NGO sector

  • Ability to build and maintain professional donor relationships

  • Excellent negotiation and sales skills

  • Demonstrable affinity with community development and / or the NGO sector

  • Valid driver’s licence with own vehicle

  • Proficient in working with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet

  • Proficient with CRM systems Ability to work independently and in a team

  • Excellent time management

  • Flexible and willing to travel to local and national NGO sites

  • Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines

  • Passionate, enthusiastic and energetic
