About the Organisation

Little Lions Child Coaching has the vision to normalise mental health conversations. We are a community-based, youth-led mental health organisation that offers free mental health workshops to children in under-resourced communities. We educate and train local role-models and organisations to become mental health coaches, giving them the professional tools to help children become mentally stronger. By giving children the ability to express their feelings, we aim to change the way children grow up. Our growth plans are to set up parent and community mental health programmes, to increase our geographical reach, and to create mental health awareness campaigns. Our geographic focus area is Cape Town and Nairobi (Kenya), but we are likely to expand to other major South African cities in the next few years.

About the Job

Little Lions Child Coaching seeks to appoint an Operations Manager to oversee the daily activities within the organisation. The Operations Manager will work alongside the CEO and will develop and implement organizational processes. The successful incumbent will have a strong business acumen and proven success in managing teams. He/she will be skilled across several disciplines including human resources, finance, operations, project management, fundraising, and communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executing business strategy

  • Supporting funding applications and report writing

  • Financial operations

  • Budget development

  • Keep oversight / vision of the organisation

  • Track marketing is in line with our strategy

  • Communication internally and externally

  • Management of team

  • Heading up HR

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business administration, or related field.

  • Master’s degree will be preferred.

  • Years of experience in NPO space: 5-6 years in a similar/management role, part of a senior management team.

  • Knowledge of organisational effectiveness and operations management.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Experience working at a supervisory level.

  • Strong ability to plan, organise, prioritise work and multitask under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

  • Multiple years’ experience in budgeting and forecasting.
