MAMAS Alliance is part of Kinderfonds MAMAS—a reputable Dutch NGO founded 25 years ago at the personal request of Nelson Mandela. Kinderfonds MAMAS funds 34 grassroots NGOs across South Africa, each dedicated to empowering vulnerable children, youth, and families to reach their full potential. These organizations support children throughout their journey, from birth to their first job. MAMAS Alliance serves as the network through which these NGOs share knowledge, initiate programs, and, importantly, raise additional funds from South African corporates.
About the Job
The Project Administrator will be employed by Kinderfonds MAMAS and will report directly to the Project Manager of MAMAS Alliance in Johannesburg. This role focuses on assisting the MAMAS Alliance projects and other capacity-building projects that strengthen our network of NGOs. Aligned with our ethos, “MAMAS know best,” we seek an experienced project administrator who is a servant leader with good listening skills, good administrative background and well-organised. This individual must have vast experience in social and community development who is skilled at working across diverse teams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and update filing systems, databases and records for programmes
Assist the PowerGirls PM in ensuring that PG equipment and stock-taking is up-to date
Assist the PowerGirls PM in ensuring that the programme’s online dashboard and systems are up-to-date, accurate, and operational.
Regularly clean and organise data within the system, resolving inconsistencies as needed
Assist with enrolment, graduation and exiting of the PowerGirls
Assist with Logistical arrangements for PowerGirls re training, ordering supplies and courier services
Assist Project visits when required
Ensuring that project related support is given to NGOs, managing whatsapp groups with queries and telephonic communication
Organising training workshops and related tasks
Assist MAMAS Academy during peak times with the approval from the PowerGirls PM
Project management and administrative tasks for MAMAS related including MAMAS Academy and Power Girls acknowledging that it is in the spirit and DNA of MAMAS to approach and treat the partners within MAMAS Alliance professionally, fairly and with the highest level of respect and transparency whilst considering these NGOs/projects as independent and equal partners.
Requirements
Education: Degree/Diploma/ Certificate in Administration/ Social Science or a related field.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in programme administration or community development.
Willingness to learn and gain experience
Dynamic, passionate and a go-getter attitude
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
Strong administration background in terms of planning and coordination
Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Google Workspace/MS Office, particularly spreadsheets.
A computer literacy test will be part of the selection process
Driver’s license (Code 08)
Willingness to travel within South Africa for site visits, including occasional Saturdays.
