The Country Coordinator role for an international environmental activist organization involves leading the administration of the Country Office and participating in the Senior Leadership Team to ensure governance, accountability, and strategic alignment. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the administration and operations of the Country Office in alignment with the organization's strategic goals.
Develop and oversee the implementation of annual work plans and budgets.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial requirements within the region.
Build and maintain effective relationships with national partners, government authorities, and other key stakeholders.
Provide strategic leadership to staff, ensuring motivation, performance, and adherence to organizational values.
Oversee security management, including risk assessments and the implementation of safety protocols.
Represent the organization to external audiences, ensuring brand visibility and alignment with cultural and social dynamics.
Support the planning and execution of programs to achieve impactful outcomes.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
A Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree with significant leadership experience.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in management positions, with at least 3 years in an international context.
Previous experience working with NGOs, including managing campaign projects.
Familiarity with high-risk environments and multi-cultural settings.
Desired skills and behaviours:
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Proficient in project management and problem-solving.
Skilled in negotiation, networking, and conflict resolution.
