About the Job

The HR Officer reports directly to the HR Manager and plays a critical role in the support and coordination of all HR aspects at Columba Leadership. The incumbent will provide efficient recruitment & selection, induction, supervising of team members, staff communication and office administration

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and Selection

o Assist with drafting of vacancies

o Place vacancies on various recruitment platforms

o Screen CVs for long list and short list

o Organise interviews

o Prepare employment contracts

o Provide admin support for all assessments

  • Employee Relations and Engagement

o Ensure effective management of employee relations and staff morale by delivering superior human resources services

o Responsible for ICAS (Employee Wellness Programme) relationship

o Distribution of ICAS monthly newsletters

  • Provident Fund

o Member of the Provident Fund Management Committee

o Responsible for monthly Provident Fund additions and withdrawals of members

  • HR Policy, Practice and Compliance

o Assist with the development of HR policies and procedures

o Update presentations, procedure manuals, etc.

  • Performance Management System

o Assist with keeping the Performance Management System documentation updated and relevant

o Distribute updated Performance Management System documentation to Provincial Managers twice per annum

  • Develop Human Resources Administration systems

o Provide accurate and timeous information to Payroll Clerk as per monthly deadlines

o Assist with preparation of monthly Exco Reports and quarterly Board Reports

o Responsible for all Human Resources administration and filing

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Human Resources Generalist

  • Must be in possession of a relevant Human Resources qualification

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Labour Relations and Basic Conditions of Employment Acts as well as all other related Acts

  • Knowledge of Pastel Payroll System advantageous

  • Competent in using MS Office packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Attention to detail and holding confidentiality critical to this role

  • Strong administrative skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, have the ability to take initiative and be a team player

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

  • Adaptability and ability to work in a fluid environment
