About the Organisation

Hong Kong's position as an international finance center provides a critical role in accelerating decarbonization efforts in China through domestic and international capital, but credible financing and transition pathways are necessary to ensure material contributions to climate transition. Civic Exchange transition finance and ESG programme aims to leverage Hong Kong's unique position as a finance hub to accelerate decarbonization efforts in Hong Kong, Greater Bay Area (GBA) and China.

Currently, we are conducting projects that emphasize the importance of clear definitions of transition activities for the energy sector across Hong Kong and GBA in a regional level, in which the role of HK as a green finance hub will be examined in detail to see what kinds of policy measures and innovation on green finance will need to be in place to achieve rapid decarbonization of energy sector and beyond.

The Data Scientist (Financial Analyst) will be part of the Climate Finance Fellowship, a pilot initiative providing pathways for finance professionals to transition to climate finance careers with the goal of accelerating organizations leading the energy transition financing movement in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. In addition to your position at Civic Exchange, as a Fellow you will benefit from climate change, energy finance, and leadership development training, as well as building your global network of likeminded professionals. Some international travel may also be required. IREX, a global non-profit that has supported more than 50,000 Fellows over 50 years, will implement the fellowship and provide ongoing support to you and your host organization.
