The Homeless Project is a grassroots initiative started by six young unemployed men in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. The project empowers homeless and poor people by assisting them to grow their own food. The picture below shows Patricia Kitchen in her food garden with Mziyanda Mphikwa that was created with the help of the Homeless Project. Mziyanda works voluntarily as the Masiphumelele area coordinator for the Homeless Project and has helped establish five food gardens in Masiphumele township. Action Appointments has supported the project by donating gardening tools and equipment.

Action Appointments supports the Ekukhanyeni Relief Project which offers a range of support to orphans, vulnerable children and mothers affected by HIV/AIDS. The project seeks to empower communities to take better care of themsleves and their children though eco-friendly initiatives. These include projects to increase food security, improve nutrition and provide effective childcare.
Action Appointments has also supported the Nomthandazo Children's Care Centre, and families in the surrounding community who are caring for those living with HIV/AIDS.
